Full-Stack Software Engineer
Work directly with our founder on the core VenueAI product. Ship features venues use every day, from lead conversations and scheduling to integrations and the AI behind our messaging. Our first engineer outside the founding team.
About VenueAI
VenueAI is an AI-powered sales platform built specifically for wedding and event venues.
We help venues respond to leads faster, manage conversations across SMS, email, and voice, and convert more inquiries into booked tours. VenueAI works alongside the systems venues already use, giving sales teams a more consistent and scalable way to manage and convert inbound demand.
We are bootstrapped, growing across the US and UK, and building technology around the way venue sales teams actually work.
We are hiring our first engineer outside of the founding team.
About the role
As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will work directly with our founder on the core VenueAI product.
You will build and improve the features venues use every day, from lead conversations and scheduling to integrations, reporting, and the AI that powers our messaging. You will ship regularly, own what you build end to end, and see your work in front of real clients quickly.
This is an early, high-ownership role. You will help set the standards for how we build, and you will have a direct line to the people using the product and the people selling it.
What you will own
Design, build, and ship new features across the full stack, from database to UI
Improve and maintain the systems that handle client conversations across SMS, email, and voice
Build and maintain integrations with third-party tools venues rely on
Work on the AI features at the center of the product, including how the system responds, follows up, and learns from client feedback
Investigate and fix bugs and performance issues quickly
Write clear, maintainable code and thoughtful tests
Take feedback from clients, sales, and success and turn it into product improvements
Help shape our engineering practices, tooling, and roadmap as the team grows
What we are looking for
We are looking for a strong generalist who is comfortable owning features end to end and enjoys building products people rely on to run their business.
You should have:
4+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong experience building and maintaining web applications in Ruby on Rails or a comparable framework
Solid understanding of relational databases and data modeling
Experience integrating with third-party APIs and messaging or communications services
Comfort working across the stack, including front-end work
A pragmatic, ship-focused mindset and the ability to make good tradeoffs without a large team around you
Strong written communication and the ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred
Experience working with large language models or building AI-powered product features
Experience at an early-stage startup or as an early engineering hire
Experience with SMS, email, or voice platforms
Familiarity with SaaS products for hospitality, events, or other vertical markets
Compensation & growth
$120,000 to $150,000 base salary, depending on experience
20 days paid time off
Equity eligibility
Opportunity to grow into a lead or founding engineering role as the team expands
This is an opportunity to join VenueAI early, work on a product that clients use every day, and help build the engineering team that follows.
